Official reproduction of Edvard Munch's work Weeping Nude, (1913-1914) from MUNCH's collection.
The model in this painting is most likely the young Ingeborg Kaurin (born 1894), who also served as Munch’s housekeeper from around 1911 until her marriage in 1915. Her posture can be recognized in several of his other paintings, including Melancholy and Weeping Woman on the Beach, where a female figure is depicted sitting on the beach, leaning her head in her hands, with her long hair hanging down.
